Late Cancellation or Missed Appointments

To ensure I can provide the best care and meet all of our patients' needs, I kindly ask for advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

To avoid a late cancellation fee, please let me know at least 24 business hours (3 business days) in advance. Please note that business hours are Monday through Friday and do not include federal holidays.

  • For example, if your appointment is on Monday at 3 PM, please let me know by 3 PM the previous Wednesday if you need to cancel.

  • If your appointment is on Wednesday at 10 AM, kindly cancel by 10 AM the previous Friday.

If an appointment is cancelled with less than 3 business days (24 business hours) notice, the full appointment fee will be charged to your credit card on file.

Late Arrivals

  • Arrival less than 15 minutes after scheduled start time: You are responsible for the full fee and the appointment will not be extended beyond the scheduled time as a result of your late arrival.

  • Arrival 15 minutes after scheduled start time: In fairness to other patients, if you are 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, you will be asked to reschedule and will be responsible for the full fee.

  • You choose to conclude the session early for any reason: You are responsible for the full fee.

Insurance

My services are private pay only, and fees are due by credit card at the time of the appointment. While I do not contract directly with insurance companies, I provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is subject to your specific insurance plan.

By not working directly with insurance companies, treatment planning is determined based on clinical recommendations and patient preferences, rather than managed care agencies. Given that I do not spend time dealing directly with insurance companies, I am able to focus more on patient care.

Rates

By offering an outstanding quality of treatment as well as excellent customer service, families find excellent value for the fees I charge when they are compared to the rates of less experienced mental health practitioners. Many find that it is more cost effective to pay more per session to receive this level of specialized treatment, given that many patients experience symptom improvements much more quickly than if they were to participate in conventional "talk therapy" which may not result in the desired symptom improvements. As a specialist, I resolve long-standing problems in far fewer sessions and at far lower overall cost compared to treatment from a “generalist” psychologist, which usually involves many sessions of less targeted and less focused treatment.

Treatment Length

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an active treatment approach that focuses on achieving maximum symptom relief in a relatively short time. Studies show that CBT often brings about more rapid results in much shorter time than more traditional “talk” therapy, which could drag on for years with little improvement. The overall cost of your child’s treatment will vary according to several factors, including how many concerns you are hoping to have your child address in treatment and what their functioning is when they start treatment.

Although treatment results cannot be guaranteed, most patients who do the work and participate consistently see notable improvement in 8-15 sessions. I recognize that treatment is both an emotional and financial investment, and my goal-oriented approach seeks to help patients make improvements quickly.  I also recognize how impairing many disorders can be, and many families are eager to see their children experience relief from the distress associated with their symptoms.

The length of treatment will be flexible based on the pace that is comfortable for each individual patient. Once progress is achieved, many families elect to continue treatment on a less frequent basis to check-in and ensure that gains are maintained.
